Rentnest simplifies payment visibility and reconciliation with Zai

About Rentnest

Rentnest is an Australian property management company that aims to revolutionise the  owner and tenant property experience.

With dedicated property managers, support specialists, and maintenance coordinators across Australia, Rentnest is ambitiously establishing points of presence across multiple coverage areas, giving owners with properties in different regions a single, centralised point of management. The goal is to provide a consistent quality, culture and standard Australia-wide as opposed to several offices with independent processes and systems.

As a tech-enabled company, Rentnest is investing in building its own technology stack to enhance property management operations and deliver a level of visibility and app experience owners haven't had before: managing their real estate assets, tracking performance and seeing valuation information all in one place.

Customer challenge

Payments and reconciliation are deeply ingrained in the property management world, and the flows are varied and constant. These payment workflows remain both time-consuming, error-prone and heavily regulated in traditional property management.

Rentnest needed a robust, highly experienced partner that could provide the underlying payment rails and API connectivity to then build bespoke layers of automation on top to reduce manual handling, improve payment visibility and avoid introducing unnecessary operational workarounds into its own system.

Outcome

Rentnest went live with Zai, and payments now power one of the platform's most fundamental systems with automated reconciliation alone saving hundreds of hours of manual work.

Mitch describes Zai's role in the Rentnest platform as "adding a now-crucial layer of magic” in the property management workflow.

“Instant payment receipts and reconciliation means tenants can see exactly where they stand seconds after making a payment,” he added.

The benefits have continued to compound since launch. "The best part is what's now possible," says Mitch. "Because we got the integration right from the start with Zai, we're able to support features we hadn't even thought about at the outset."
